Project C.O.O.L.
General Support
Project COOL is a summer employment program for teens aged 14-18 that provides training workshops, summer job placements and mentoring. In 2007 their summer program they placed 97 youth with various employers over an eight week period. The four objectives of the program were: 1) Christian values and their relevance for career success, 2) Grooming and its importance, 3) Attitude and its importance, and 4) Money management principles. The foundation’s gift helped underwrite the expenses associated with operating this program which included minimum wage reimbursement for student workers and bus passes.
Restorers, Inc.
General Support
Restorer’s offers numerous programs that show Christ’s love by promoting long-term sustainable changes in families and neighborhoods by working through both the community and local churches. They focus on helping individuals and families become better prepared for employment, financial management, healthy marriages and relationships, and developing leadership in the youth of the community. They also assist ex-offenders in identifying and addressing the barriers to a successful transition from incarceration to self-sufficient members of society. This gift was for general operating support.
