Baxter Community Center
Child Development Center

Baxter Community Center provides services to low-income families and individuals.  It addresses immediate needs, offering food and clothing, daycare and healthcare.  Programs assist individuals to become responsible, productive, and self-sufficient while affirming positive qualities in individuals and the community.  This grant was earmarked for the Child Development Center wich operates weekdays providing structured childcare for children from infancy to 12 years of age.  Last year 67 children were served and 41% of the families have annual incomes under $15,000. The Child Development Center after school program helps kids with homework, discovering their gifts and by speaking truth into their lives.  This past year they have put an emphasis on reading to help children develop a love for reading.
